Overview:We are seeking a Water Utility Worker for assignment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations and maintenance of a water distribution, water treatment and wastewater collection systems on an assigned shift.Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm** This position has a pay rate of $19.50/hr **** This position may have an on-call schedule **** Candidates with plumbing, mechanical, landscaping or irrigation experience will be good fit ** Responsibilities:- Performs routine servicing and corrective maintenance of water/wastewater systems- Cleans vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, tools and other stationary and portable equipment- Performs routine inspection of vehicles and equipment; performs minor maintenance and lubrication of machinery such as changing oil and greasing equipment- Maintains grounds and buildings; cuts grass, weeds and brush; trims trees and bushes; rakes grass, leaves and trash; seeds and cares for lawns and ornamental plantings- Operates and maintains vehicles, equipment and tools required to load, unload, haul and spread sand, gravel, dirt- Digs and refills ditches and trenches- Carries or holds materials, supplies and tools to assist operations and maintenance personnel- Maintains records to accurately reflect pump hours, gallons pumping rate, gallons of chemical applied, kilowatt hours and facility appearance- Installs water meters- Reads and records water meter readings- Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner- Perform other duties as required Qualifications:- High School Diploma or GED- A valid Drivers License- Familiarity with hand and power tools
