Compensation varies based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, performance, location and salary range at the time of the offer.ResponsibilitiesAscension Wisconsin is seeking a dynamic and experienced Primary Care Physician to serve in a dual-role as both a practicing clinician and Medical Director for our Racine and Milwaukee South service areas. This individual will provide high-quality patient care while also offering clinical leadership and operational oversight across several sites.Position Highlights:Clinical (0.6 FTE):Provide direct patient care as a board-certified Family Medicine physician.Participate in call coverage as assigned.Administrative (0.4 FTE):Serve as Medical Director for the Racine and Milwaukee South region.Lead quality improvement initiatives, physician engagement, and operational planning.Participate in annual performance reviews and regular physician check-ins.Conduct quarterly site visits across regional clinics.Attend weekly administrative meetings (typically held on Wednesdays in Glendale).Participate in biannual Physician Forums and other leadership events.Represent clinical staff in regional and system-level leadership meetings.Responsibilities:
- Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
- Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
- Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
