
Senior Associate, Lead RPG Developer

- Interact with business and other Systems department personnel to design, develop and maintain business applications that effectively support the NYL/Tampa Operations business customers.
- Provide recommendations on methodology and development environment improvements. Use knowledge and experience in solving complex problems.
- Perform complex and varied programming, based on specifications, utilizing appropriate development tools, common routines and interfaces using internal development languages (i.e., RPG, Visual Basic, Java, C#, StreamSure, etc.).
- Design, develop, maintain and support multi-platform application systems to increase productivity and promote reusability.
- Develop a sequence of programming steps translating business model specifications into detailed system component specifications, including file design and operating instructions.
- Support the creation of test plans and debug programs.
- Analyze job requests from user departments for feasibility and impact on current applications systems.
- Perform other assignments to comply with business strategies and initiatives.
- 15-20 years of development experience in RPG/400, RPG-ILE, RPG Free
- 15-20 years of development experience in CL
- 15-20 years working experience in IBM DB2 and SQL
- 10-15 years working experience with Service Programs, ILE Modules, bound programs, binding directories, etc.
- 10-15 years working experience with exposing iSeries programs for web applications (stored procedures, webservices, etc.)
- Excellent leadership skills
- Working experience with Aldon Change Management tool
- Working experience with IBM WebSphere Development Studio Client (Eclipse)
- Experience in a Windows desktop environment
