You will be part of an inclusive team guided by our belief to always be there for each other–providing the support and flexibility to grow and reach new heights while making an impact in the lives of others.You are our future, and we commit to investing in you accordingly.Role Overview:As a Senior Associate, Lead RPG Developer; your primary responsibilities will be to direct other developers and support the development and maintenance of cost-effective application software utilizing knowledge of tools, concepts, and principles to construct and deliver software in direct support of customer business needs across all internal development platforms.What You’ll Do:
  • Interact with business and other Systems department personnel to design, develop and maintain business applications that effectively support the NYL/Tampa Operations business customers.
  • Provide recommendations on methodology and development environment improvements. Use knowledge and experience in solving complex problems.
  • Perform complex and varied programming, based on specifications, utilizing appropriate development tools, common routines and interfaces using internal development languages (i.e., RPG, Visual Basic, Java, C#, StreamSure, etc.).
  • Design, develop, maintain and support multi-platform application systems to increase productivity and promote reusability.
  • Develop a sequence of programming steps translating business model specifications into detailed system component specifications, including file design and operating instructions.
  • Support the creation of test plans and debug programs.
  • Analyze job requests from user departments for feasibility and impact on current applications systems.
  • Perform other assignments to comply with business strategies and initiatives.
What You’ll Bring:You’ll have Project Management experience including the ability to coordinate, through the full project life cycle, the efforts of project team members including end-users, vendors and internal systems staff. You’ll have strong analysis and design skills with a focus on system design and flow. You have experience with designing and implementing high volume, mission critical, productions systems. You are a team player. You can work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. You are a self-starter with the ability to learn quickly through on the job experience working with a sense of urgency.Required Skills:
  • 15-20 years of development experience in RPG/400, RPG-ILE, RPG Free
  • 15-20 years of development experience in CL
  • 15-20 years working experience in IBM DB2 and SQL
  • 10-15 years working experience with Service Programs, ILE Modules, bound programs, binding directories, etc.
  • 10-15 years working experience with exposing iSeries programs for web applications (stored procedures, webservices, etc.)
  • Excellent leadership skills
Preferred Skills:
  • Working experience with Aldon Change Management tool
  • Working experience with IBM WebSphere Development Studio Client (Eclipse)
  • Experience in a Windows desktop environment
​Pay TransparencySalary Range: $100,000-$130,000Overtime eligible: ExemptDiscretionary bonus eligible: YesSales bonus eligible: NoActual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
