
Data Center Operations & Critical Facilities Manager

- Partner with off-site staff (e.g., Engineers, IT department staff, etc.) to collect and provide on-site information to address data center design, equipment installation, upgrading, cabling or technical maintenance, and to resolve issues at the site.
- Partner with Facilities staff to plan for and provision appropriate IT power requirements and requests in the assigned data centers.
- Collect a variety of information such as measurements, status of equipment, placement of telecom and computer cables, as required for use in the design and performance of the data center.
- Monitor and respond to both basic and complex equipment issues with a sense of urgency, escalating appropriately for those issues outside of employee's control.
- Respond to scheduled and unscheduled outages in a timely manner ensuring adherence to departmental procedures and standards appropriately escalating any issue outside employee control.
- Participate and lead in the activities associated with a variety of departmental projects ensuring established timelines are met. Prepare reports, material and documentation as needed.
- Provide direction, training, and guidance to the data center team.
- Appropriately manage escalations from other data center team members that could adversely impact the data center services being provided.
- 7+ years of experience in data center operations, telecommunications or related technical fields.
- 5+ years of leadership level critical facilities management and proven experience with infrastructure systems such as onsite generation, UPS, switchgear, and both Chilled ware and DX type cooling systems.
- 5+ years of experience with MS Word, Excel and Visio.
- 5+ years of experience with infrastructure cabling in a datacenter environment.
- Associate’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience.
- This role requires the ability to stand for a majority of the shift; safely lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds; lift above your shoulders; and climb, squat, kneel, twist, push, and bend frequently during each shift.
- Ability to respond to incidents on a 24X7 on-call basis.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure cabling and data center standards (NEC, NFPA, OSHA).
- Understanding of both chilled water and DX type cooling systems.
- Ability to lead technical people and assist in day-to-day activities as needed.
- Overall understanding of power management.
- Approximately 10% travel off-site or to other office locations is expected.
- Per contractual obligations, must be a US Permanent Resident or a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a qualified United States Government security clearance, (e.g., US DOD Secret).
