- Demonstrates proper and safe use of equipment, including stereo and microphone
- Pays constant attention to fitness level and age group of class and teaches accordingly
- Exhibits professionalism when dealing with class participants, facility members, and staff
- Limits securing a substitute to an average of once a month
- Maintains attendance records for each class per the direction of the Fitness Center manager.
- Projects enthusiasm, motivation, a positive personality and a willingness to help internal and external customers
- Uses appropriate format for every class; adds variety to classes
- Provides participants with up-to-date information on programs being held at the corporate fitness center.
- Participates in NIFS and client-led programs and services
- Demonstrates work ethic, ingenuity, customer care, and attention to detail
- Maintains familiarity with and abides by the policies stated in both the NIFS Employee Handbook as well as the CFM Operations Manual
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Current Group Fitness Certification and/or post-high school education which demonstrates appropriate knowledge base for safely teaching group exercise classes
- Once trained, the employee should be capable of accurately using the ADP EZ Labor Payroll system
- Current Group Fitness Instructor certification
- Current specialty Instructor certifications needed to teach specialty formats
- Current CPR certification required
- Trained in Universal Precautions annually (provided by NIFS)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as NIFS or client rules/policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak and write accurately and effectively in English
- May, at any time, be required to submit to and successfully pass a thorough background check and/or drug screen
- Must have regular and reliable transportation to and from work
