You will lead your team in efforts to support continuous improvement. This position works under general supervision, coordinates, oversees and monitors activities within a specific factory function in Assembly. This person will report to a Section Manger.Knowledge of assembly procedures, standard work schedules, quality requirements and build requirements in assigned work area.Uses various tools provided in the work area to perform assembly duties and may include the use of lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs.Perform other related work duties as assigned.Follows and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, Standard Work and Built in Quality.Keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.Must meet deadlines.Ability to multitask and prioritize work.Contributing team member.Train new and develop existing employees.Liaison between team members and section managers.First point of contact for questions related to employee job functions.Performance of administrative functions and may be accountable for daily team PQVC metric boards.May provide input on schedule/build adjustmentsMay communicate with cross-functional leaders.Relies on independent decision-making and problem solving to complete job tasks.Communicate potential build schedule, inventory or manpower issues and solutions to section manager.Ability to maintain excellent attendance recordPhysical Requirements:Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periodsAbility to perform repetitive operationsAbility to lift up to 35 lbs.Basic QualificationsPrevious experience in machine assembly (12 months)Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Top Candidates will also haveFurther vocational and/or college educationPrevious Leadership experienceAdvance problem solving/troubleshooting ability and root cause corrective actionAbility to multitaskAbility to read/write and interpret documents and follow standard work instructionsAbility to retain and transfer knowledge to othersMust have excellent attendance recordAdditional InformationShift: 1st ShiftHours: M-Th 6 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Overtime as business needs required on FridaysStarting pay rate: $24.35/hourWork location: Clayton, NCEmployee benefit detailsOur goal at Caterpillar is for you to have a rewarding career.
