
Payroll Analyst

- Responsible for the hourly payroll process which includes payroll input, approval and auditing
- Research payroll discrepancies and process necessary corrections
- Responsible for auditing the Workforce Software system for data integrity
- Comply with the regulatory standards, policies and procedures for payroll
- Understand the collective bargaining agreement as it pertains to Maintenance payroll
- Update and maintain payroll files and databases to reflect personnel payroll changes
- Maintain HR and payroll records per established record retention policy
- Provide accurate and timely reports (i.e. overtime, absenteeism, upgrade and any additional reports as needed) to organization
- Coordinate and conduct ongoing payroll training for new hires and timekeepers
- Responsible for union and special organization payroll deductions
- Process a high volume of phone calls and emails in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintains broad knowledge of HR processes, policies and procedures
- Provide quality and courteous customer service to all employees, readily addressing payroll and policy questions
- Support operations scheduling process
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- 3 years or more in a business or administrative support role
- Currently hold or can qualify to receive a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card
- 2 years or more experience handling payroll and/or timekeeping functions including data entry and HRIS/Payroll systems
- Knowledge of Workforce Software - data entry, reporting, and auditing
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical capability and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work overtime including weekends and holidays when needed
- Experience in industrial environment with rotating shifts
- Experience in union represented work environment with the ability to understand collective bargaining agreements
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work independently, set priorities and show initiative
