Swim Instructors at British Swim School teach lessons to children and adults to become safe and happy swimmers, regardless of age or ability. The renowned British Swim School teaching curriculum ensures that each student in our program learns water survival skills and progresses to propulsion and stroke development in a fun and gentle environment.Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Report to and communicate directly with Aquatics Manager
  • Conduct classes in a fun and gentle environment, following current teaching methods, policies, and safety and emergency procedures as detailed in the British Swim School training manual or directed by the Aquatics Manager
  • Our Swim Instructors also cross-train as Deck Ambassadors to help represent and be the greeters and friendly face of our program. Customer service skills and a desire to work with people are a must!
  • Attend staff meetings and ongoing training/coaching
  • Part-time position with afternoon/evening shifts on weekdays and morning or afternoon shifts on weekends
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Enthusiastic, energetic personality with strong relationship and customer service skills
  • LOVES working with kids!
  • Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!
  • Ability to complete British Swim School Swim Instructor training and testing
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience working with children
  • Swimming experience: 1-2 years but not required!
  • Customer service experience: 1+ year preferred
  • Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (can be obtained post-hire)
