Our team supports customers in a wide variety of markets, including financial services, energy providers, life sciences, and government.Our Climate and ESG Managing Consultants provide wide-ranging support for client engagements. They organize their own and the team’s tasks and schedules, working on multiple projects simultaneously. They manage project teams, including having responsibility for client communications, project schedules, divisions of labor, architecting analyses, and overseeing team dynamics. They are responsible for developing teams and individuals through coaching and feedback, promoting a culture of excellence. Many of our Managing Consultants also provide deep subject matter expertise in one or more areas and serve as a resource to others.THIS POSITION IS TARGETED SPECIFICALLY FOR EXPERTS ON CLIMATE RISK. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE FAMILIARITY WITH THE TCFD FRAMEWORK AND OTHER SUSTAINABILITY OR CLIMATE-RELATED FIELDS.The successful candidate will lead teams to grow the Guidehouse sustainability consulting practice and deliver meaningful change to our clients.Key responsibilities include:Tailor our decarbonization and sustainability offerings to specific clientsProvide content expertise and corporate insights on a daily basisLead project teams on engagements in partnership with DirectorsBe active in the delivery of projects (we are looking for team players who roll up their sleeves and work with teams, not people who just want to ‘direct’)Develop an internal network to pull in resources from across our global team and across market teams (e.g., with Energy Providers and Public Sector)Build and maintain relationships with clientsPublish a blog per quarter to keep a strong external profileStay up to date on topics relevant to clients (especially on topics related to specific sectors we serve as well as relevant reporting agencies, frameworks, and regulators)Be active on a local or global internal initiative to contribute to the team and culture; be a role model for consultantsThey demonstrate advanced technical and subject matter capability and continue to gain credentials that are recognized and valued at our company and within the industry. They actively support key pieces of business development, sales activities, and identifying new business development opportunities both within and outside client engagements. Participation in industry and networking events is expected and encouraged.What You Will Need:5+ years plus of relevant experience, excluding Internships, Co-ops, and Research FellowshipsExperience in the energy/sustainability/ESG space – in particular, experience with climate risk analyses, including: Experience using GIS and conducting geospatial analysisEffective communication through climate storytellingAction-oriented approaches to identifying climate adaptations and mitigationsAdaptability to learn a variety of industry sectors and potential climate impacts/stressorsFinancial Risk Assessment and modeling (particularly aligned with TCFD)Ability to lead teams to create executive-level presentations with insight and impactCorporate environments (we are looking for someone who understands the key functions of and dynamics between different departments and how to develop relationships across them to meet sustainability objectives)GHG and climate topics (we are looking for someone who understands the key policies, protocols, and standards in this field)Fluency in EnglishAgility in presentation storyboarding and developmentStrong communication skills within the project team and at the board levelClarity in business writingAbility to lay out an analytical project approach and carry it forward with a teamDemonstrated success working within high-performing teamsNo sponsorship available for this roleMust currently reside in the United StatesAbility to travelWhat Would Be Nice To Have:Experience in consulting, especially at a large firmAbility to oversee data-heavy workPublic Sector Sustainability ExperienceSocial, as well as environmental, sustainability experiencePMP certificationAdditional languages (e.g., Spanish and Portuguese)Master’s/MBA or higherFamiliarity with and demonstrable experience in one or more of the following:Sustainability (e.g., greenhouse gas accounting standards, circular economy, abatement strategies, ESG)Climate risk, resilience, and adaptation (e.g., TCFD)Life cycle assessments (LCAs)Federal program managementCommercial real estate/property management/building engineeringESG, social equity and environmental justiceEnergy (e.g., hydrogen economy, advanced energy technologies, electricity power and gas industries)Environmental and sustainability policy appraisalRisk management, accounting, economic and financial impact analysisInnovation (e.g., advancement of new ideas and technologies)The annual salary range for this position is $109,100.00-$163,700.00.
