Job DescriptionTitle: Part-Time Boutique Donation Center Shift Supervisor - Pasadena, MDReports to: CEO and COOStatus: Non-ExemptSchedule: 25-30 hours per week / Monday through Saturday from 8:45am to 1:45pmAbout Partners In Care Maryland, Inc.:Partners In Care (PIC) is a private non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization offering programs and services that support the independence of older adults aged 60 years and older in our communities.We accomplish this through a unique culture of service exchange where member volunteer their time and talents to help each other with neighborly services such as transportation, handyman repairs, person-centered support, and social engagement. In exchange, members ask for assistance when needed.About the role:The PIC Upscale Retail Boutique offers an exciting opportunity to make a difference by supporting the store's day-to-day operations, and is one of the most noticeable operations of the organization. The Boutique functions as an integral part of the organization’s funding.Position Overview:As a Donation Center Shift Supervisor, you will oversee the extremely fast-paced daily functions of our donation center, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to organizational guidelines. This role requires a hands-on approach, as you'll be actively involved in the processing, sorting, and distribution of donated items. Moreover, you will lead a team of our dedicated Volunteers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.Key Responsibilities:· Supervise daily operations: Oversee the intake, sorting, and distribution of donated goods to ensure timely processing and proper handling.· Lead by example: Demonstrate a strong work ethic and dedication to the Mission of the organization by actively participating in all aspects of donation center operations.· Team management: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of Volunteers, including task assignment, training, evaluation, and conflict resolution.· Ensure compliance: Enforce safety protocols, organizational policies, and procedures to maintain a secure and productive work environment.· Ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of antiques, collectibles, and thrift store pricing to accurately assess the value of donated items and ensure fair and accurate pricing for donated items.· Customer service: Interact with Volunteers, donors, customers, and community members in a courteous and professional manner, addressing inquiries, providing assistance, and fostering positive relationships.· Facility maintenance: Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the donation center, including regular cleaning, maintenance, and repair tasks.· Reporting: Prepare reports on donation center activities, regarding any incidents or issues encountered during operations.· Training and development: Identify training needs and opportunities for skill enhancement among Volunteers, providing coaching and support as needed.Qualifications:· High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in management or related field preferred.· Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a retail, warehouse, or non-profit environment.· Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.· Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively.· Physically capable of performing the duties of the job in a fast-paced environment, including pulling, lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, standing/walking for long periods of time, ability to bend and stoop.· Familiarity with safety protocols.· Commitment to the organization's Mission and values, with a passion for serving the community.· Microsoft ProficientThis position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community while gaining valuable leadership experience in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
