Bandera Middle School is seeking an experienced and dynamic Social Studies Teacher & Boys Athletics Coach to join the BMS Family.Availability: 2024-2025 school yearResponsibilities: Position is responsible for Middle School Math (6-8th Grade level Social Studies) courses.
Coaching: Coaching assignment will be determined based on experience and skill sets.Grades: 6th - 8thStart Date:July 30, 2024 (or possibly sooner for coaching responsibilities)Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Texas Teaching License and appropriate endorsements for the grade levels and subjects taught
- Possess or be able to possess a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License:
  • Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) w/School Bus Transport & Passenger Vehicle (S, P) endorsements.
  • If applicant does not currently hold a valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License with the required endorsement, the Superintendent may authorize a grace period to extend no longer than the 6th month of employment before the applicant must have the required licensing.
  • State of Texas School Bus Certification
  • If the applicant does not possess the required certification, the Superintendent may authorize a grace period to extend no longer than the 6th month of employment before the applicant must have the required licensing.
Additional Information:
- Team planning with colleagues to ensure high quality instruction and assessment
- Develop, modify and prepare curricula to ensure high quality instruction based upon student abilities and skill levels
- Provide classroom instruction to whole groups, small groups, and individuals
- Demonstrate the effective use of technology to enhance instruction and support student interest and growth
- Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways.
- Collect and analyze student data to drive instruction
- Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff, and provide meaningful feedback
- Communicate necessary information and student progress regularly to students, colleagues, and parents
- Work cohesively with the campus staff in a fast-paced atmosphere
- Work cooperatively with Special Education teachers to modify curricula, and instruct and assess Special Education students in the regular classroom
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
