Assistant Project ManagerJob Summary:The basic function of the Assistant Project Manager is to assist the project manager in preparing preliminary design, final design, cost estimates, specifications and quality control for assigned engineering projects.Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist project manager to schedule work load assignments to meet contractual and client deadlines.
Prepare detailed design calculations as required to meet specified design criteria.
Be knowledgeable of applicable design criteria in jurisdiction(s) where work is being performed.
Assist project manager in scheduling and coordinating task items with other departments (hydraulics, survey, etc.)
Make on-the-ground recognizance as required for proper planning and execution of the design task.
Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies as required to achieve project goals.
Diligently record notes of meetings, telephone conversations, etc. and place in project files.
Maintain accurate and complete project and drawing files.
Maintain equipment issued by the company.
Develop a working knowledge of other areas of the Company as required to efficiently achieve project goals.
Any other responsibilities assigned by the project manager or President.
Qualifications and Skills:
Have Professional License or be pursuing Professional Engineer licensing
Experience on projects from start to finish and understanding necessary steps involved
Present oneself in a neat and professional manner at all time
Adhere to company policies and procedures
Frequent communication with co-workers and specifically the project manager to ensure all items are taken care of timely and efficiently
Setting an example through prompt arrival time to work and meetings; on time submission of time cards and billing
Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at one time
Able to set internal deadlines and meet client deadlines
Team building skills and ability to work in a team environment for project collaboration
Help train staff through project assignments, professional development and skills development
