- Operate overhead crane and forklift with utmost care and safety. Does not move loads over workers.
- Conduct safety inspection of cranes and forklift before operating. Reports concerns to Shift Supervisor.
- Communicate with machine operators to assure timely delivery and removal of material to prevent lost machine production time.
- Deliver material to work stations and stocking locations without damaging material.
- Check bundle tag information to verify that it matches the order requirements at the machine needing material.
- Dump scrap and rubbish boxes into large hoppers.
- Process bundles of tubing in various tank baths, such as alkaline cleaner, water rinse, draw lube, and rust preventive solution.
- Hook up and unhook all lifts of material so that lifts are properly balanced.
- Assist in banding and boxing of tubing.
- Use manual and powered banding tools.
- Communicate with employees on other shifts regarding status of operations, equipment, and special assignments.
- Refer concerns about tubing quality or equipment condition to Shift Supervisor.
- Communicate with employees of other shifts regarding status of operations, equipment, special assignments, etc.
- Assist maintenance repairman in repair of cranes and forklifts.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
- Various other duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using while numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Other Skills and Abilities: Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.
