- Reports directly to site Engineering Manager and will work with a team of electrical and mechanical engineers on various capital projects involving machine design, modification, and support. This Electrical/Controls Engineer role is a very much hands-on with involvement in new machine installs, process improvements, and special projects.
- Use electrical and controls knowledge to design, build, test, and troubleshoot controls systems to support manufacturing processes.
- Provide advisory support to maintenance in the areas of troubleshooting and diagnostic evaluation of production equipment.
- Update control system prints of existing equipment to match current conditions.
- Use skills and experience to enhance existing controls and develop new controls and logic programming to support manufacturing.
- Assist in the development of upgrade plans for existing equipment.
- Program Manufacturing Equipment with PLCs, HMI, Database interfaces.
- Consult and work with various technical evaluations of potential suppliers and vendors to assist with the selection process
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related Engineering field) At least 3 years of specific experience in electrical controls design and support.
- Proficient in writing and modifying Allen Bradley PLC ladder logic programs, DC drive controllers, and variable frequency drive controllers. BSEE, BSEET or other Engineering degree preferred.
- Experience with Mitsubishi PLCs and Kawasaki robotics a plus.
- Knowledge of SQL, Wonderware, and Ignition development programming.
- Proficient in electrical CAD design and documentation using AutoCAD and/or Solidworks Electrical.
- Manufacturing equipment electrical design, interface, and integration experience is required.
- Strong computer, math, and statistics skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
