Employment Type: Full timeShift: Day ShiftDescription:CLINICAL LAB COORDINATORBOISE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTERSUMMARY:Collaborates with lab leads, coordinators, supervisors and lab managers to provide educational programs with the goal of enhanced quality of clinical training, quantity of work, professional growth of the staff and the assurance of safe and effective healthcare to patients. Maintains ongoing participation in the effective provision of professional development activities including assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating educational activities according to established standards.REQUIREMENTS:Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or equivalent certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP required.Specialty certification desirable. Experience in laboratory education desirable. At least 5 years of medical technology, training required.Bachelor’s degree with a major in medical technology or related science required3 years of experience in the specialty area desirable.WHAT YOU WILL DO:Collaborate with other service departments as needed to improve patient flow and work processes.Promotes a learning environment in a manner that enhances learner’s competence to provide quality laboratory skills and to enhance clinical skills through group activities, classroom lecture presentations, individual instruction or the general use of role model and mentoring concepts. Integrates research, evidence-based practice, and current literature into educational activities.Reflects an integration of knowledge, skills, experience and attitude needed to present educational offerings to laboratory staff for enhancement of certification, accreditation, compliance standards and risk management.Facilitates participation in the development, attainment and evaluation of Laboratory staff orientation. Provides focused education to specific laboratory departments. Maintains records of educational offerings.Maintains own clinical skills and competence related to laboratory practices and staff development. Demonstrates awareness of need for self-growth and pursues personal growth.Maintain department employee records at JCAHO and CAP standards.
