Youth Recreation Coach

• Under the general supervision of the Recreation Specialist, provide a physically and emotionally healthy recreation program for boys and girls that involves team sports skills.
• Act as a co-worker with other youth sports coaches.
• Work with boys and girls in Kindergarten through 6th Grade or 4 and 5 year olds who have not entered Kindergarten.
• Ensure that optimum safety precautions are taken when operating all activities, and administer first aid to minor injuries.
• An enthusiastic supporter of the Community Education Department and its programs and philosophies.
• Encourage patrons' good personal habits by setting a good example yourself.

• Good knowledge of the principles, practices, organization, administration, and purpose of a recreational sports program.
• A working knowledge of sports.

• A combination of age, training, and experience equivalent to one year of college.
• Previous experience as a paid or volunteer youth coach.
