Creditable job-related experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a 9-months for 9-months basis. Experience: Six months progressively responsible general experience plus a minimum of six months specialized experience in receiving, storing or shipping merchandise and processing documents in a mechanized distribution center. Operation of MHE or motor vehicles is subject to prescribed licensing requirements.If a sufficient number of qualified candidates do not apply, the minimum qualifications may be lowered without reposting.SupervisorNoFacility NameDDDC STG 1ST SHIFT BULKSalary Minimum$20.41Salary Maximum$23.80Major DutiesPerforms independent work tasks in either receiving, storage, order selection or shipping to meet assigned requirements. Uses a VDT/PC to access and use the various applications to include requirements for maintaining accurate item/location balances. Provides guidance and assistance to associates in accomplishing assigned work requirements.
Receiving: The work may be involved with physical receipt of merchandise, accurate counting of items, completion of receiving worksheets and monitoring placement of putaway tickets on items scheduled for movement.
Storage: The work consists primarily in the putaway and replenishment of items to ensure location/balance accuracy and updating of the WMS documents for controlling.
Order selection: The associate will be involved in orders being picked and moved as scheduled to ensure programs are updated.
Shipping: The associate will be responsible for the proper loading/securing of trailers and also for internal movements within shipping to handle transshipment merchandise.
May operate a forklift or other MHE to ensure merchandise movements by picking cycles are accomplished in a timely manner. May be responsible for ensuring that item/location balances are accurate using various management reports. Also, ensures that file maintenance needs for items are accurate in the computer.
Participates in the taking of periodic and special inventories. Complies with established safety, security, fire prevention procedures and relevant directives.
