- College degree preferred.
- Three to five years' experience in Gaming Surveillance required; two of which in a supervisory/management capacity.
- Knowledge of Louisiana Gaming regulations preferred.
- Broad knowledge of cheating methods and proficiency in detecting cheating.
- Experience in training others of cheating methods.
- Knowledge of current technology concerning casino surveillance required.
- Versed in the laws and regulations that influence the casino industry.
- Computer experience to include knowledge of Word and Excel preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, leadership, team building, and problem solving skills are required.
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of annual budget and operation forecast.
- Prepares regular and special reports.
- Maintains necessary records and files.
- Directs the overall management of the monitor room.
- Ensures clandestine surveillance of the operations and conduct of the table games, slot machines, casino cage, and audio/video taping of activities in the count rooms.
- Detects cheating, theft, embezzlement, and other illegal activities in the casino, count rooms, slot booths, and cashier's cage.
- Ensures accurate and verifiable information regarding surveillance is communicated in written form.
- Communicates with and notifies appropriate management and authority upon the detection and taping of cheating, theft, embezzlement, or other illegal activities.
- Prepares court testimony when necessary in written and verbal form.
- Works effectively with all departments assuring efficient surveillance support service is provided when needed.
- Implements recording, training, and development of surveillance officers.
- Encourages the coordination between shift supervisors and related report/record keeping functions between shifts.
- Schedules employee work hours.
- Researches and formulates policies.
- Establishes and maintains a progressive and empowered work force.
- Trains, counsels, and coaches assigned personnel in the performance of their duties.
- Prepares and presents Performance Appraisal Reviews.
- Recommends and/or approves changes in the department, including hiring, promotion, demotion, and termination of personnel.
- Recommends wage and salary adjustments within established guidelines.
- Maintains professional skills by staying abreast of current technical developments and participation in developmental programs available within and outside the company.
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Spends the majority of time interviewing, training, and selecting employees.
- Conducts Performance Reviews.
- Makes or recommends wage increases.
- Makes or recommends promotions.

- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Able to sit or stand for long hours observing several CCTV screens.
- Manual dexterity to operate VCRs, monitors, switches computers, controllers, and cameras.
- Able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items when necessary.
- Excellent vision, including peripheral vision.
- Must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports.
- Must be able to work overtime and work different shifts on short notice.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the hotel/casino.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
