Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Part-Time (2 days per week)Provide school-based evaluations and therapy as an Occupational Therapist (Part-Time) in the Bronx, NY, with our client. You will assess motor skills, sensory processing, and perceptual development to create individualized therapy plans that strengthen participation at school and at home. This role involves collaborating with teachers, parents, and interdisciplinary teams to recommend IEP goals and track progress, offering licensed OTs a flexible, part-time opportunity in a supportive educational setting.Responsibilities as the Occupational Therapist:
- Student Evaluations: Conduct screenings and evaluations to assess sensory processing, perceptual skills, and fine/gross motor coordination.
- Therapy Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans and activities that promote functional independence and classroom participation.
- Classroom & Staff Support: Demonstrate strategies for teachers and staff to integrate activities that enhance student learning and participation.
- Family & Training Support: Provide guidance to parents and lead staff development or workshops on sensory and motor skill development.
- IEP & Documentation: Recommend IEP goals, participate in conferences, and maintain accurate treatment notes, progress reports, and attendance records.
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required.
- Licensure/Certification: Current New York State Occupational Therapy license and certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) required.
- Experience: 1-3 years of occupational therapy experience, preferably in pediatric, school-based, or educational settings.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with electronic documentation systems.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of sensory integration, perceptual-motor development, IEP processes, and pediatric therapy best practices.
