- Establish and implement the business strategy (5-10 years) and business plan (1-3 years) with the FIS Business VP and partner with Sales, Ops, Applications, and Marketing to ensure the annual sales budget is met or exceeded.
- Ensure portfolio profitability and competitiveness by vide pricing and pricing strategy per product group/customer segment, and working capital guidelines consistent with profit and market share goals.
- Create the innovation (Type II and III) project portfolio/funnel.
- Assure the quality supply of FIS solutions by working closely with internal partners.
- Determine sales priorities with the Product Manager, Regional VP, Regional BD, and Market Segment Leads.
- Voice of FIS product business strategy in aligned Ops, R&D and Marketing strategies.
- Develop key raw material strategy, lead strategic partnerships with critical raw material suppliers and analyze related technologies and raw materials to determine weaknesses/dangers and opportunities to obtain the best planning and profitability.
- Identify and direct new sales opportunities by working closely with Strategic Intelligence, Business Developers, Sales, Marketing, and R&D. New Technology scouting is included.
- Create and direct KPI framework/progression report card for FIS Product Business Strategy implementation for all disciplines in alignment with Strategic Intelligence, OPS, Business Developers, Sales, Marketing, and R&D.
- Own product specifications based on input from industry, technology, and regulatory.
- Determine market share positions and profitability that can be achieved over the next three years and the long term, globally and regionally. Work through Strategic Intelligence to determine and communicate the Addressable vs Reference vs Attainable Market for product lines/categories.
- Develop product portfolio analysis framework and direction for revenue, margin, mix, complaints, growth, hold, divest (BCG matrix analysis) as well as analyze product line life cycle.
- Provide sales programs by working with Strategic Intelligence, Business Developers and Market Segment Leads who will provide to Sales, general product and application literature and recommendations of ways to approach customers and overcome objections.
- Ensure regulatory registrations and compliance in target countries with RA support.
- Represent the portfolio at key customers, industry meetings, fairs, and events.
- Bachelor of Science in Food, Biology, Chemistry, Biotech or related field, preferably Master’s Degree in food or business.
- 15+ years of work experience in multiple roles (e.g. technical sales, procurement, pricing, R&D, Industry Management) and a minimum of 4 year’s experience in customer facing roles in a regional or international context.
- Proven success translating market needs into the language of scientists, sales, and operations.
- Strong experience analyzing and translating data, both quantitative and qualitative to drive strategy.
- Adaptive communication skills with experience leading cross functional teams, managing key internal stakeholders, and telling the story behind the science to customers.
- Ability to handle the complexity of a matrix organization.
