- Become proficient in print and manufacturing terminology
- Work closely with management team to understand and assist with implementing action plans to achieve department objectives
- Assume a leadership role in directing crew activities to meet production deadlines safely and efficiently
- Produce a quality product that exceeds our customer’s expectations, following the requirements of documented processes as defined in the Quality Management System
- Assist management with supporting and implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives, departmental maintenance activities, training, safety and special projects
- Assists with training of new employees and directs all crew activities connected with the operation of the press
- Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out – tag out rules and eye protection policies
- Reinforce safety training and safe work practices; participate in safety meetings
- Comply with company standard operating procedures and policies for equipment operation
- Maintain a clean work area by properly storing supplies and equipment, removing waste, cleaning tools and eliminating spills
- Recognize diversity. Be inclusive and act professionally with all people in the work environment
- Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

- Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Effectively communicate with all team members while building collaborative relationships
- Understanding of the sequence of production operations and workflow operations undertaken within the commercial sheetfed operations
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
- Recognize, identify, and analyze problem situations, and collaborate with others to generate options and alternative solutions
- Ability to operate various hand tools including line gauge, and loupe
- Ability to perform a variety of calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages, in addition to using a standard ruler
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of chemicals and materials used in production, their interactions, danger signs, and proper disposal methods
- Possess strong attention to detail and quality of work product
- Possess basic computer skills
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Stand/walk up to 8-12 hrs per day, frequently requiring them to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Adequate manual dexterity to reach, handle, adjust, and perform various operations
