The Northwest Suburban Municipal Joint Action Water Agency (Agency) is looking to fill the position of a full-time overnight shift, 7 PM to 7 AM, Water Operator at their pumping facility on O'Hare airport grounds. The primary duty will be to provide water operations control (pump and equipment control) and associated monitoring and testing from the Main Pump Station. Additional duties include performing preventive, corrective, emergency, and routine maintenance of the Agency's facilities including main pump station facilities, booster stations, storage tanks, delivery structures, transmission main systems, chlorination systems, etc.Position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. And one to three years of experience in water or wastewater, or industrial/manufacturing or equivalent operations shift work or a combination of water/wastewater experience with HVAC, electrical, or mechanical maintenance work. Knowledge of water chemistry, PLCs, or SCADA systems is a plus. A valid State of Illinois or equivalent driver's license required. Possession of State of Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) Class “C” or higher Public Water Supply Operator's License. For continued employment, the new employee needs to obtain the IEPA Class C license within twelve months of the appointment date.The position must work overnight shift, 7 PM - 7 AM, with a 36-hour work week followed by a 48-hour work week. The salary range is $28.61/hr to $43.60/hr. The starting salary is DOQ. The Night-shift Plant Operator receives an additional premium pay of $1.50/hour and 8-hours of overtime each 2-week pay period.
