- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of 5 consecutive years in a licensed clinical nursing role performing similar duties
- Active South Carolina Registered Nurse license
- ANCC Informatics Nurse (RN-BC) certification, or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with an informatics focus
- Experience in nursing informatics, clinical informatics, or health information technology
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Associate in Health Information & Management Systems (CAHIMS)
- Certified Professional in Health Information & Management Systems (CPHIMS)
- Epic application certification (e.g., ClinDoc, ASAP, Stork)
- Proficiency in Epic Systems electronic health record
- Develop and continuously expand informatics nursing knowledge and competence as defined by the ANA’s Informatics Nursing Scope & Standards of Practice.
- Implement nursing informatics strategies related to the selection, deployment, optimization, and maintenance of health IT systems.
- Act as a change agent, supporting the integration of technology into nursing workflows to improve patient care and professional practice.
- Serve as a resource to standardize and improve nursing processes, documentation, interdisciplinary communication, and outcomes using evidence-based practices.
- Evaluate and monitor the impact of information systems on nursing workflows, satisfaction, and compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support the integration of standardized work practices to improve patient care quality and system efficiency.
- Contribute to policy and procedure development to align with evidence-based practice and regulatory standards.
- Participate actively in performance improvement efforts, including Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
- Collaborate on the development and integration of clinical and business metrics, dashboards, and analytics.
- Provide project support for clinical information systems throughout all project phases, including planning, execution, and evaluation.
- Administer nursing-centered clinical systems, ensuring effective implementation and ongoing maintenance.
- Develop and maintain test plans to validate safe and efficient clinical workflows.
- Round regularly in clinical areas to identify and address informatics challenges, inefficiencies, and training needs.
- Identify, analyze, and recommend solutions for system issues or process gaps in partnership with interdisciplinary teams.
- Assess, plan, and coordinate clinical documentation modifications in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Apply human factors principles to system design, optimizing the usability and safety of clinical technologies.
- Collaborate on the creation and delivery of education and training materials that strengthen nursing competencies in using clinical systems.
- Demonstrate effective change management, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Promote safe, effective, and efficient use of health information technology across the organization.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage priorities independently.
- Serve as a preceptor for nursing students and support ongoing staff development.
- Maintain all required certifications and stay current with professional trends and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
