
Mechanic (2nd Shift)

- Responsible for adjusting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components of can line equipment.
- Makes modifications to equipment where needed and makes improvements or changes in the operation as directed.
- Performs preventative maintenance as needed.
- Responsible for lubrication of the equipment and seeing that sufficient supply of lubricant is provided to the line.
- Responsible for directing equipment operators in their duties.
- Maintains change-out records of all parts and supplies used.
- Responsible for seeing that adequate package material is supplied for continual line operations.
- Reports any damage to machines or equipment or spoilage to immediate supervisor.
- Maintains entire work area in a neat and orderly manner.
- High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
- Journeyman certification, or equivalent training/experience, required.
- May work in other areas of the department as assigned.
- Operates and uses mechanical hand tools, shop tools, precision measuring instruments, and gas and electric welders.
- Operates under conditions set forth by Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Observes all Federal, State, Company, and Plant environmental, health, safety, and quality regulations and procedures.
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, walking, crouching, rapid working speed, standing, and kneeling.
- Constant high acuity hearing, seeing near and far, and depth perception.
- Constant noise 80dB and over.
- Frequent mechanical hazards.
- Eye protection, hearing protection, head covering, and foot protection required.
