Our staff's passion and energy promote a strong collaborative culture that produces creativity, innovation, and high performance in our hybrid work environment.A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER | DISCIPLINE MANAGERAs a Discipline Manager, you are responsible for executing the strategic growth objectives for the transportation engineering service. You will handle daily administrative functions related to managing and mentoring staff, while working with the Mobility Studio Director to advance engineering functions within our organization. You will also serve as a Project Manager to lead and manage proposals, project budgets, schedules, workflows, and be responsible for high-quality project deliverables. Your leadership skills enable you to create a collaborative environment among project team members. Project team members are made clear on their areas of responsibility by your clear and concise guidance. You utilize your professional experience in transportation engineering, focused on safety engineering and street design, to lead and support traffic operations planning and design for master plans, regional studies, corridor plans, active transportation plans, and multimodal transportation studies.You have a strong understanding and working knowledge of transportation modeling tools to conduct intersection, corridor, and regional operational analyses for complex projects in a variety of conditions, from urban to suburban and rural. You are the primary resource for traffic modeling, data analyses, interpreting transportation model outputs to assess and identify transportation needs, and developing final reports. You have strong technical skills to interpret, summarize, and visualize data. Your analytical insights and critical thinking support project related decision-making. You are proficient with CAD and the development of creative and progressive street designs, with a strong comprehension of existing and evolving standards from nationally relevant manuals.TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER | DISCIPLINE MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, preferably with a concentration in transportation
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in consulting or with a public agency, preferred
  • FE license (PE preferable)
  • Experience with HCS, SYNCHRO, and VISSIM
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience in complete streets design
  • Experience in MS Office, including proficiency in spreadsheets and database management
  • Ability to provide work samples and references
  • Ability to travel throughout the Greater NYC Region and the New England Region
