Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team in supporting the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHS) within the Behavioral Health Service. The ideal candidate will be Board-Certified (preferred) or Board Eligible in Psychiatry, with a passion for providing high-quality care to our diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations for a diverse population, including geriatric and post-deployment combat Veterans with mental illness and psychosocial issues.
Provide a full range of therapeutic interventions, including diagnostic assessment, medication management, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and overall care of patients with psychiatric disorders.
Ensure practice of psychiatric medicine aligns with regulatory standards and VA policies.
Deliver psycho-diagnostic services and employ appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques.
Coordinate consults and triage of specialty clinic referrals as a mental health team leader.
Participate in team meetings, treatment planning conferences, and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
Order diagnostic tests and consultations, make appropriate treatment decisions, and provide supervision and teaching support as needed.
Practice in various clinical settings, including outpatient, inpatient, ED, and through VA Video Connect.
Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
Completion of a psychiatry residency approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Possession of a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate.
Possession of a valid Physician's and Surgeon's certificate issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California.
Salary Options:
W-2: $190,000 - $200,000 annually
1099: $135 - $140 per hour
Application Process: Interested candidates should submit their application along with a copy of their residency completion certificate, DEA certificate, and physician's license. Candidates must also provide 2 professional references. Applications will be accepted from candidates within nine (9) months of completion of residency.
Monitoring and Supervision: Performance will be clinically monitored by the Chief of Psychiatry or designated supervisor. Contract psychiatrists will participate in consultations and adhere to VA policies and procedures.
Location:
The psychiatrist's workstation will be located at the VALLHS main hospital campus or a Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) as necessary.We welcome qualified individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the mental health of our Veterans!
