We invite you to join us as we strive to be The Most Trusted Partner for Health.The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacists with the preparation, labeling, and delivery of medications in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy and adheres to the policies and procedures of the INTEGRIS Health. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. INTEGRIS Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.Responsibilities:The Pharmacy Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Obtains drug products, counts and distributes them in the appropriate containers, labels those containers and presents them to a registered pharmacist for review and approval
  • Operates and restocks automatic dispensing machines
  • Retail Pharmacy Only: Generates and transmits the inventory order and checks in the received order daily. Checks out customers at the cash register. Answers and obtains telephone messages timely and accurately. Provides customer service that exceeds the customer's expectations. Responsible for inventory management to include correcting perpetual inventory amounts when necessary and pulling out-of-date and excess inventory off medication shelves. Reverses insurance claims and returns stock to inventory for prescriptions not picked up by customers. Inputs prescription information into the pharmacy Rx program, transmits online adjudicated pharmacy claims, and generates prescription bottle labels.
  • Internal Pharmacy Only: Repackages and labels medications, issues and records floor stock items, inspects floor stock in an assigned area and reports this information to the pharmacy supervisor. Issues and records all inventory transactions for scheduled and non-scheduled medications, assuring that all counts balance with the book value of the present inventory. Answers the pharmacy window and telephone, manages the charging and crediting of medications and emergency cart medication maintenance. Performs controlled drug system basic dispensing; packages medications in support of the unit-dose system according to ASHP standards. Manages the medication exchange system and ensures the timely and accurate delivery of medications. Records and reconciles payroll deductions.
  • ICIO Pharmacy Only: Prepares or compounds sterile products, chemotherapy and intravenous medications upon physician's orders. Maintains clean and safe operation of biological safety cabinets. Assists in maintaining logs, records and other required documentation.
  • The Pharmacy Technician reports to the Staff Pharmacists, Pharmacy Supervisor, Manager Pharmacy, Director Pharmacy, or Director Outpatient Pharmacy.
  • This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Please consult the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or contact Risk Management/Employee Health for additional information.
  • May be exposed to some compounds that have been classified as Hazardous by OSHA and have been demonstrated to cause cancers and birth defects in humans and animals. This is particularly important in areas that provide sterile products compounding (which may include chemotherapy), and investigational drug distribution. Hazards are minimal if safety precautions are utilized.

Qualifications:
  • Current Permit or formal training as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
  • Permit issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy must be received by 1 week after hire
  • Phase II Training must be complete within 90 days of hire
  • Passed National Certification exam as a Pharmacy Technician/or registration as a pharmacy intern
  • Must complete training or demonstrate equivocal vocational training
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
Retail Pharmacy Only:
  • Two years of Retail Pharmacy experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
