As we continue to grow, we are looking for passionate and experienced professionals to help drive our business growth and manage our teams for greater success.We are seeking an Account Manager - Maintenance to manage the company’s maintenance business operations, ensure we are positioned for continued growth, and effectively maintain our high standards. The Account Manager - Maintenace must understand maintenance needs, crew needs, scheduling, routes, costs, and overall contract profitability. In addition, the candidate should have experience in developing an organization’s infrastructure, workflow, internal communications, and critical business processes. This individual must have hands-on field experience, understand client expectations, have a clear ability to build relationships, anticipate maintenance and enhancement needs, and have a high standard for quality work. The successful candidate will be an innovative and self-motivated leader with a high degree of maturity, personal integrity, and strong interpersonal skills.Position OverviewAs a senior member of the Administrative Team reporting to the Vice-President and President, the Account Manager – Maintenance will work closely with the staff and work directly with the Production Manager and the Maintenace Coordinator to supervise critical daily operations. This position will hold a crucial role in our team as it will serve as the main conduit of communication between the field, office, and executive staff. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled professional who can coordinate all maintenance business operations while at the same time supporting the growth of a diverse and fast-growing landscape maintenance company.Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support the overall maintenance team operations
  • Become very familiar with each client, contract, property, and work ticket
  • Become the primary point of contact for our clients
  • Identify issues and prioritize needs, while overseeing business functions including field operations, opportunities, and office administration
  • Meet quotas to grow the existing book of business through annual contract renewals
  • Meet quotas for enhancement sales
  • Responsible for crew conduct and standards
  • Ensure execution of the “WJ Way” for each job
  • Understand and master Aspire to support the business across all departments and functions, especially related to maintenance and maintenance crew management
  • Responsible for the performance of the Maintenance Coordinator and the Production Managers
The Director of Maintenance will be responsible for the following role-specific tasks:
  • Manage and oversee daily field operations
  • Manage and oversee horticulture program
  • Manage and oversee irrigation program
  • Assist with small landscape design projects
  • Manage and oversee the annual color program
  • Assist with specialty services program
  • Manage the onboarding and training of new crew members
  • Develop and lead ongoing training for existing crew members
  • Coach, discipline, grow, and mentor crew members
  • Analyze and develop Aspire reports to monitor crew efficiency, profitability, and work progress
  • Expect and uphold the highest standards and the adherence to the “WJ Way”
Skills and Requirements
  • Must have a minimum of two years administrative experience supporting executives
  • Must have a degree in horticulture or a minimum of ten (10) years industry experience in lieu of a degree
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in irrigation design, maintenance, and repair
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish – written and oral
  • Must have hands-on field experience, customer service, understanding of client expectations, and a clear ability to build relationships
  • Must have a solid understanding of landscape industry needs, and a high standard for quality and work ethic
  • Must have good computer proficiency – Mac/Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the ability to master other software
  • Demonstrate excellent and professional communication skills – written and oral
  • Able to prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change course of action quickly
  • Able to work comfortably working in fast-paced environments
  • Able to work on many projects simultaneously
  • Must have exceptional organizational and follow-thru skills
  • Must have some sales experience
  • Must be proactive in thinking of ways to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Must have a flexible work schedule
  • Must have a valid California driver's license
