- As a Core Design Thermal-Hydraulic Engineering Intern you will work with experienced engineers and designers to support the development of analytical models for the performance analysis of the nuclear reactor.
- The position will be located in Lynchburg, VA at the Advanced Technologies Office.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop analytical models for nuclear reactor thermal-hydraulic performance analysis and assess their operating characteristics using state-of-the-art analysis software.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to make design tradeoffs and decisions relating to thermal-hydraulic performance of a terrestrial or space based nuclear reactor system.
- Must be a currently enrolled student, pursuing a degree in engineering or physics.
- Must have a strong interest in thermal-hydraulic engineering.
- Must have completed introductory engineering classes, including thermodynamics/heat transfer, fluid mechanics, or those same topics covered in nuclear engineering courses.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Experience with thermal-hydraulic analysis tools (MOOSE, Ansys or other) is a plus.
