Job Summary:The Associate Vice President of Supply Chain Operations leads the strategic and operational direction of UTMB's supply chain across the institution to maintain high-quality service and accomplish objectives set forth by the Chief Supply Chain Officer. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless, cost-effective, and high-quality support to both procedural and non-procedural areas, including warehouse operations, linen, and mail services. The AVP of Supply Chain Operations drives long-term planning, daily operations, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with UTMB's commitment to exceptional patient care and operational excellence. This position leads cross-functional teams and champions data-informed, technology-enabled supply chain practices that support organizational priorities and service line growth.Responsibilities:Lead and direct all supply chain functions in logistics, inventory management, receiving, distribution, and procedural units across all campuses.Develop and implement system-wide supply chain strategies that support operational efficiency, cost containment, and high-quality patient care.Define priorities and goals, ensuring objectives are consistent with institutional goals.Provide strategic and tactical guidance for all UTMB Supply Chain activities based on best practices both within and outside the healthcare industry.Support the digital transformation of supply chain operations, leveraging ERP and analytics platforms to drive automation, transparency, and data-driven decision-making.Lead supply chain activities with the goal of the lowest total cost of ownership while balancing quality and service outcomes.Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders, including C-Suite, Hospital Administrators, Operations Officers, and senior leadership representatives of all affiliates of UTMB. Effectively communicate the strategies and activities related to UTMB Supply Chain.Ensure that department policies and procedures are updated on a consistent and regular basis as the needs of the organization progress.
