- Uses current knowledge of education design, teaching and evaluation methods.
- Considers age specific population needs of clinical areas of responsibility in developing staff education programming and competency development.
- Serves as educational consultant.
- Assesses, develops, implements, monitors and evaluates educational programs.
- Provides input/recommendations related to program resources and feasibility.
- Keeps multiple programs on schedule and coordinates program activities with Frederick Health initiatives.
- Manages projects and convenes project teams
- Provides input to project resources and making recommendations.
- Serves as an education expert to all Frederick Health employees.
- Provides ongoing learning and self-improvement activities.
- Reviews current literature for appropriate application in continuing education programs.
- Disseminates information on available education programs.
- Plans own professional development and education.
- Supports Nursing Residency program.
- Coordinates Student Affiliations.
- Understands and ensures Regulatory compliance in orientation content and ongoing clinical competencies.
- Assesses, develops, implements, monitors and evaluates Nursing Orientation.
- Able to apply adult learning principles in education design, presentation, teaching and evaluation methods.
- Able to apply effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Able to apply project management methodologies and quality improvement principles to assigned projects and programs.
- Able to maintain up-to-date knowledge in area of practice.
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field preferred; Baccalaureate Degree in area of practice is required.
- National Certification in area of specialty (Nursing Professional Development) within one year of hire or when eligible.
- Currently licensed as, or eligible for, a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland.
- Three to five years of critical care or ED nursing required
- Two years previous healthcare education/training experience preferred
- BLS, ACLS required; PALS preferred
