QUALHEIM’S TRUE VALUESTART RIGHT START HEREPOSITION TITLE: Hardlines Sales AssociateMANAGER’S POSITION: Store ManagerRESULT STATEMENT: THIS POSITION IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR PRODUCING THE FOLLOWING RESULT:Be the Consultant of Choice for our customers. This position is the Jack of all Trades within the store. They must be able to demonstrate basic to advanced knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating, farming, paint, tools, lawn & garden, and household goods. This position requires a good memory and creative skills for envisioning what the customer is trying to accomplish. This “sales” position requires good listening skills and the ability to ask directional, open-ended questions.TACTICAL WORK LISTING:· Help the customers find what they are looking for and answer any questions they might have.· Offer additional products that will help to finish the job properly.· Know the POS system to be able to process sales when business requires.· All displays will be kept full, faced and fronted.· All displays will be kept organized.· Provide assistance with heavy materials when required, up to 63 pounds.· Will ensure that all POP material is up to date and fresh.· Put freight away whenever it may arrive.· Carry out merchandise when needed.· Smile and thank the customer with sincerity.· If not sure about something, know where to go to get the answer.· Resolve customers’ problems and concerns in a calm, helpful and timely manner.· Obtain Forklift license to better assist store and customers.STANDARDS:COMPANY-WIDE: * All work will be performed in accordance with all government laws, regulations, ordinances, and court rulings in those jurisdictions in which the company operates.
  • All work will be performed according to company policies and standards inherent in all position contracts, system action plans, employee manuals, ongoing policy memoranda, and facilities and dress codes.
  • Client and company information will be held as strictly confidential outside the company.
  • All radio usage will be kept short, professional and will be to help the customers.
  • All telephone calls, both internal and external will be returned within one business day and within two hours whenever possible.
  • All innovation will be quantified, tested, and improved, then documented for routine implementation (i.e. well-orchestrated once proven).
  • Problems with any system must be brought to the attention of manager in an exception report so the system can be improved.
  • All policy memoranda indicating changes in policy and/or procedure will be stored in each employee’s operations manual, until the time an updated procedure is provided.
  • Employees will provide staff assistance as requested; each employee may be asked from time to time to cover other areas of accountability and/or departments.
  • All business communications, whether verbal, visual, or written, whether for internal or external use, will be professional in tone and content and according to any applicable and existing company policies and standards.
  • Employees will respect each other’s time, space, and need for concentration. Socializing and interruptions must not impede workflow.
  • There will be no eating at the registers. Consumption of beverages is allowed, but limited to a bottled container with a lid, and done so discreetly.
  • Employees are encouraged to recommend ideas for the improvement of their department and positions that are consistent with the company’s Core Values and Mission Statement.
