We’ve got what you’re looking for.Job Description:Parsons is looking for an talented and experienced Senior Engineer (Highway) to join our team in East Hartford office! In this role you will get to support wide variety of transportation projects such as $450 million Interchange Improvement Project in Meriden, CT or upcoming various highway improvements projects from CTDOT Task Order assignments. You will perform various tasks ranging from feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, and final design to report writing and development of construction contract documents.Completes a wide variety of challenging engineering assignments such as development of horizontal and vertical alignments, develop 3D corridors, review design exceptions, maintenance and protection of traffic and specifications. The Highway Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices. The assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications by using applications such as Bentley's OpenRoads (ORD), GuideSign, and SUDA.Responsibilities:Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.Reviews shop drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and junior-level Engineers working on the same project.May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 8+ years of related work experience.
