- Establish and enhance policies and procedures' effectiveness, mitigating risks.
- Validate and assess internal control effectiveness over financial reporting.
- Identify suggestions for client internal control improvement and accounting procedures.
- Delegate audit functions to the auditor in charge.
- Supervise the audit team, providing on-the-job training and reviewing workpapers.
- Apply principles to client transactions and communicate complex financial statements.
- Consult with clients on the impact of new accounting pronouncements.
- Monitor and communicate important professional and industry pronouncements.
- Resolve complex accounting issues, seeking counsel from technical experts.
- Apply professional standards, document application on engagements.
- Guide and affirm conclusions made by the team.
- Communicate matters to be reported to the Audit Committee/Board.
- Utilize efficiency tools like statistical sampling and CAATS.
- Apply DWC standards for efficient service delivery.
- Ensure audits comply with audit manual standards.
- Prepare or review required communications to management and audit committees.
- Recommend appropriate outcomes for critical issues.
- Plan and oversee audits with quality and efficiency.
- Define methodologies for research projects and conduct them efficiently.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of research tools and draw accurate conclusions.
- Prepare memos supporting research and present issues effectively to reviewers.
- Supervise Staff and Senior Staff, providing feedback and guidance.
- Act as a Career Advisor, managing their workload and providing performance feedback.
- Coach team members for on-the-job learning.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, MBA or Masters of Accountancy preferred.
- Eight or more years of relevant audit experience.
- CPA or EA preferred.
- Ability ad willingness to travel, as needed.
- Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and auditing principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a team.
