- We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to support and lead our migration from Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition (TKGI) to Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP). The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Nutanix tools and CNCF technologies, and be proficient in installing, configuring, and operationalizing components across the Kubernetes ecosystem.
- This role will play a critical part in modernizing our infrastructure by designing and implementing scalable, secure, and observable Kubernetes platforms using Nutanix solutions.
- Lead the migration of Kubernetes workloads from TKGI to NKP.
- Install, configure, and operationalize components of the Nutanix Kubernetes Platform.
- Deploy and manage open-source CNCF components including:
- MetalLB for load balancing,
- Calico and/or Cilium for CNI and network policies,
- Dex for authentication,
- Kubecost for resource usage and cost monitoring.
- Integrate Nutanix platform features with Kubernetes, including CSI and CNI plugins.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure platform stability, security, and scalability.
- Automate platform management using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and scripting languages like Python or PowerShell.
- Implement policy-as-code solutions (e.g., OPA/Gatekeeper, Kyverno).
- Ensure observability and performance tuning using Prometheus, Grafana, and integrated logging stacks.
- Document architecture, configurations, processes, and SOPs to support platform maintainability and scalability. Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven hands-on experience with Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and core Nutanix tools (AHV, Prism Central, etc.).
- Experience migrating or deploying Kubernetes platforms in enterprise environments.
- Deep knowledge of CNCF tools, especially:
- MetalLB, Calico, Cilium, Dex, and Kubecost.
- Proficient in container orchestration, networking, and Kubernetes security best practices.
- Strong scripting and automation experience with tools like Terraform, Ansible, Python, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Comfortable working in a DevOps environment with GitOps methodologies. Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience migrating workloads from TKGI (Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition).
- Experience with Nutanix CSI and CNI integration in Kubernetes clusters.
- Familiarity with GitOps tools like Argo CD or Flux.
- Understanding of enterprise authentication systems integrated via OIDC (e.g., Dex + LDAP/Okta).
- Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) is a plus.
