Job Description:OverviewCertified Nursing Assistant, Med Surg, Javon Bea Hospital - Riverside- Night Hours (7:00P - 7:30A)- Weekend and Holiday RotationCares for patients in the hospital setting under direction of nursing staff, by performing the following duties, supporting the nursing philosophy. ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides patient care as assigned and per routine as defined by educational scope, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.Answers call lights in a timely and appropriate manner.Documents care provided according to standards.Maintains a clean work and patient environment.Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.Floats to various units based on identified patient care needs.Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.Training/precepting new partners in collaboration with unit educatorBlood Glucose Monitoring (BGM) with lab personnelBladder scanning procedure reviewedBladder scanner training complete (check off sheet for competency)Attaching patient to remote telemetry or bedside cardiac monitorManaging and reporting collection devices:Colostomy, ileostomy or other fecal management systems: care and output measuresIndwelling catheters: care and output measuresNasogastric tubes to suctionSurgical drains under direction of supervising RNCompetent in completing vital signs: Manual process for blood pressure and required reporting of abnormal values to supervising RNDiscontinue invasive devices under the direction of the supervising RN:Indwelling (Foley) cathetersNasogastric tubesPeripherally inserted intravenous cathetersSimilar devices as appropriateCulture of Excellence Behavior ExpectationsTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following behavior expectations:Quality - Follows policies and procedures;
