We seek to hire driven people to work side by side with us, who align in our mission to provide our patients with extraordinary care.The TriState Health Hospital Surgery Department provides service with a staff of highly skilled nurses, technicians and anesthesia personnel. With approximately 26 surgeons on staff and four fully-equipped surgery suites, TriState's Surgery Department provides surgical services for a broad range of patients, to include infants, children, adolescents, and adults; along with a full range of surgical services including, General, Orthopedic, Urological, Gynecological, Ear Nose and Throat, and Peripheral Vascular Surgery.Our state-of-the art facility allows TriState surgeons to perform both invasive and laparoscopic surgeries in addition to MAKO Smart Robotics, and DaVinci Surgical Systems.In this position you will work in the peri-operative area: (Day surgery pre/post, infusion clinic, GI endoscopy, and PACU)
  • Assess patient prior to procedure, reviewing patient identification, consent, physical and psychological health status, allergies, medication lists and readiness for surgery
  • Review data collected, pertinent health history, physician orders, and patient needs to formulate and prioritize a plan of care.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and outcomes.
  • Being able to adapt readily to changing situations.
  • Provide triage assessment, nursing diagnosis and evaluating all aspects of nursing care.
  • Provide for patient safety throughout the perioperative experience.
  • Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide the safest care for each patient.
  • A fully trained Staff RN is responsible for the education and mentoring of students, novice nurses, peers, as well as promoting and assisting educational opportunities for self and others.
  • Nursing care is given to all patients in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Administer various infusions including: medications, antibiotic therapy, fluids, and blood to patients through multiple access methods.
  • Use skills in nursing assessment to include peri-operative education and care, recognizing post anesthesia and post-operative complications and competent to implement all phases of the nursing process according to hospital policy.
  • Interacts in a professional manner with physicians, anesthesia providers, and other staff in the various departments within the hospital, in the development of the patient care plan.
  • The Staff RN will maintain adequate physical and mental health to meet the job performance criteria.
  • Facilitates discharge and transportation of patients to outlying nursing units or home.
  • Participates in a 24 hour call rotation which may entail 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month.

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • License or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington OR have an active multi-state license.
  • Current BLS at time of hire.
  • Surgical experience preferred but not required.
