
Process Engineering Technician

- Work with the engineering team and contribute to process-improvement projects per engineering guidelines.
- Participate in the generation of new ideas to improve existing processes, with a focus on optimizing workflow, space utilization, and material handling efficiency.
- Participate in lean workshops and Kaizen events, contributing to the development and implementation of lean principles within the distribution center.
- Assist in implementing improvements for the process that will reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction.
- Support manufacturing operations with regards to device failure validation, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation.
- Conduct time studies to measure process performance and help establish operational benchmarks for new and existing workflows.
- Support conducting statistical analysis of operational data and interpret test results to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support onboarding and deployment of new programs, including setting up processes from scratch and ensuring smooth integration into daily operations.
- Support any process issues that are escalated or identified on the floor so the repair area can continue to repair phones
- Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, & Excel) for the purpose of editing, revising, and creating production documentation and process analysis
- Perform root cause failure analysis on repair process failures
- Actively identify & pursue Lean process improvement initiatives
- Research and perform failure analysis of different processes to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Associates/Technical Degree Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering
- 3+ years' experience in Lean Process Engineering environments
- 3+ years' experience with line balancing, cycle times, MOST, and takt times
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical/Mechatronics
- Automation and equipment line balancing & sustainment experience
- Work with Customers and other Organization Groups to document / develop process requirements
- AutoCadd skills for updating layouts.
- Actively identify & pursue process improvement initiatives resulting in decreased cost per unit (CPU)
- Strong focus with continuous process improvement (CPI)
- Experience in a reverse logistics environment
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced, dynamic assembly and logistics environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) for the purpose of production documentation creation.
- To perform the major job responsibilities must have computer skills including Microsoft Office with procedure / documentation writing background.
- Has awareness of new technologies/techniques.
- Communication skills and problem resolution.
- Requires basic arithmetic skills.
- Proven knowledge of CDMA/ GSM / LTE/ RF communications tester use.
- Soldering skills including surface mount rework, shield, and connector replacement experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of wireless data.
- Has a substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
- Able to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- The employee is regularly required to sit at their work station and use hands to disassemble, assemble, operate, and repair equipment
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, leads and supervisor of the organization.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color visions and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations where only limited oral instructions are available.
- Can perform analysis/ work using some independent judgment. Decisions may affect team.
- Ability to use positive interpersonal skills to handle customer problems.
- Must possess oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work scheduled hours required plus overtime as dictated by company.
