We are seeking a motivated interior designer to support our growing Interior Design team. This contract role will work closely with the Lead Interior Designer on large-scale luxury residential projects, contributing to interior architecture, space planning, FF&E, palette development, and overall project coordination. Responsibilities span from concept design through installation, encompassing creative, technical, budgetary, and operational support. This full-time, hourly position offers a flexible hybrid work model. Applicants must be based in Los Angeles.Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to all phases of the design process, from Concept and Schematic Design through Construction Administration, Procurement, and Installation
  • Support the Lead Designer in all aspects of the interiors scope of projects: development of design collateral, including furniture plans, custom FF&E concepts, drawings, and presentation graphics
  • Assist with FF&E procurement, including vendor quotes, client proposals, purchase orders and expediting, and logistics and tracking
  • Provide clear direction to trade contacts and consultants to ensure design intent is executed
  • Prepare and present design materials for internal and client reviews
  • Collaborate closely with KOVAC’s in-house architectural team, external consultants, contractors, and vendors to deliver a successfully integrated interiors program for each project
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • 4+ years of interior design experience, with a focus on high-end residential projects
  • Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field (AAS or higher)
  • Comprehensive understanding of the full design process including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, and Procurement and Installation phases
  • Strong knowledge of trade vendors and product sourcing, with curiosity to identify new, creative products and resources
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Studio Designer
  • Exceptional graphic presentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing detail with deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented and able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Keen attention to detail and commitment to design excellence
