Job Description:As an Energy Assistance Program (EAP) Specialist, you'll process energy assistance applications, provide support to participants, and ensure accurate data entry in a fast-paced environment. You'll assist with document submission, conduct outreach, and refer participants to relevant programs. The role requires adherence to EAP guidelines, ongoing training, and a commitment to helping low-income families and individuals in the community. Various factors will affect the actual end date, but position is expected to last no more than 6 months. Successful EAP Specialists may be asked to return for the following EAP season.This temporary full-time position (40 hours per week) is Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Starting pay is $18-20 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to pass required background study, as defined by position
High School diploma or equivalent
Two years of work experience using a computer, performing data entry, and providing customer service
Ability to solve problems, identify new solutions, apply critical thinking and adapt to changing priorities, all while working in a fast-paced environment
Extensive organizational and administrative skills, attention to details, and an ability to handle multiple tasks
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe
Experience with Laserfiche, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software
Ability to work with the public, articulate ideas, and work with diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
Self-motivated and confident, with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Bilingual skills (spoken and written Somali/English or Spanish/English) preferred but not required
