- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for construction materials, selecting those that meet quality and cost requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to secure favorable agreements.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of approved suppliers, fostering reliable partnerships.
- Ensure all procurement activities align with company policies and compliance standards.
- Regularly review supplier performance, adjusting sourcing strategies as needed.
- Track inventory levels continuously to maintain optimal stock and prevent shortages.
- Implement and oversee inventory management systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations, addressing discrepancies promptly.
- Develop and adjust stock replenishment strategies based on project demands.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage or loss.
- Establish and enforce quality standards for all incoming materials to meet project specifications.
- Inspect incoming materials upon delivery, verifying compliance with quality criteria.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve any material quality issues that arise.
- Maintain detailed records of material quality assessments, supporting quality control.
- Work with suppliers to address and prevent recurring quality concerns.
- Coordinate the transportation and timely delivery of materials to job sites, optimizing logistics flow.
- Work with logistics teams to plan efficient routing and delivery schedules, minimizing delays.
- Monitor and adjust delivery schedules as necessary to align with project timelines.
- Ensure that materials are stored safely and securely on-site, supporting easy access for teams.
- Identify and implement process improvements in logistics to streamline material distribution.
- Prepare regular reports on material usage, expenditures, and stock levels for management review.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in material handling and storage.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to procurement, inventory, and material usage.
- Provide timely updates to management on material status, cost variances, and supplier issues.
- Implement best practices in material procurement and usage to enhance efficiency and cost control.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in materials management, preferably within the construction industry.
- Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in inventory management and procurement software.
