The Assembler is responsible for the mechanical assembly of gates, components, and water control systems in accordance with engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. This role plays a critical part in the production process, ensuring all components are properly fitted, secured, and function-tested prior to shipping. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical components and gate systems using hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure correct assembly.
- Align, fit, and bolt or weld parts together using appropriate tools and fasteners.
- Inspect and measure completed assemblies to ensure conformance to quality standards.
- Assist with hydraulic, mechanical, or manual component integration, as required.
- Perform functional testing of assemblies and subassemblies prior to final inspection or shipment.
- Identify and report any part defects, missing components, or quality issues to supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, following 5S and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members across departments including Quality, Engineering, and Shipping to resolve assembly-related issues.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE and equipment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, or related industrial role.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments (tape measures, calipers, levels).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in a shop environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing large mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, structural, or gate systems.
- Forklift certification or experience with overhead cranes (preferred but not required).
- Welding experience is a plus but not required.
