- Lead and own the full life cycle of AI projects including conception, project prioritization, model definition, dataset generation, model training and qualification, model deployment and model monitoring
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships across multiple business units and departments to ensure the successful deployment of AI systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Become a domain expert in silicon carbide substrate processing and characterization
- Develop and deploy high throughput neural network inference systems integrated into critical manufacturing processes
- Effectively communicate the accuracy and capabilities of AI models to internal stakeholders to qualify deployment and integration into manufacturing processes
- Perform basic research to develop state of the art models in computer vision, deep neural networks and machine learning
- Publish research in top-tier journals and at international conferences
- Translate basic research results into innovative technology that decreases cost, improves yield, accelerates process feedback and maintains Wolfspeed’s leadership in silicon carbide technology.
- PhD in an engineering, computer science, physical sciences, mathematics, or related field
- Demonstrated track record of contributions in computer vision, deep learning, and/or machine learning communities through publications and/or open source contributions
- Strong leadership and communication skills to work constructively with a diverse team
- Hands on experience with advanced metrology techniques and analysis
- Expertise in SiC, semiconductor physics, and related materials
- Expertise in python and python libraries for Machine Learning such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, sklearn, etc.
- Demonstrated talent for complex data analysis and effective communication of results and implications
- This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.
