Job Description:Come grow your career with Intertek!Intertek is looking for a Night Shift Mechanical/Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our US Construction team working for a client based in Port Sulphur, LA. This project is anticipated to last 6 months, so this is considered a Temporary, Full Time role that is not eligible for benefits.The Night Shift Mechanical/Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) will ensure that the Project Quality Plan in conjunction with Project Execution Plan is developed and implemented. This role will promote quality awareness throughout the organization, emphasizing excellence, continuous improvement, and corrective action to influence the overall success of company business.   • Inspection personnel should also be familiar with Destructive Testing fundamentals, techniques, and applicability including groove welds, fillet welds, stud welds, and weld ability testing.
  • This will be for pipeline mainline/maintenance inspections. Monitor the execution of welding work in progress to ensure that it complies with the applicable codes, standards, and specific job requirements.
  • Evaluate completed weldments for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and job requirements.
  • Perform inspections to applicable procedures and processes.
  • Conduct audits and surveillance of suppliers and organizations providing materials or services to the project.
  • Ensure the work performed and associated records are maintained and conform to the requirements of the applicable standards or other contract documents.
  • Inspection personnel should also be familiar with Destructive Testing fundamentals, techniques, and applicability including groove welds, fillet welds, stud welds, and weld ability testing.

What it takes to be successful in this role:
  • 5 years Mechanical/CWI Inspector experience required
  • Current CWI certification required
  • API 1169 Certification a plus
  • Received high school/GED or higher education
  • Fluent in English (i.e. reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with email and internet communication systems
  • Ability to work well with others, multi-task, and is detailed oriented
