- Perform the roles of a Project Manager such as maintaining client relationships, contracting, project planning and execution, financial management, technical management, change management and project team management including subcontractors.
- Client facing role with ownership and responsibility for the successful delivery of dam engineering projects and programs including business development and proposal preparation for new and existing clients.
- Build and maintain project schedules for delivering project success including the management of resources, budgets and risk.
- Plan and manage the execution of field investigations for various hydraulic structures and embankments.
- Communicate with multi-disciplinary teams on various projects related to dams and other hydraulic structures.
- Provide technical support for projects including analyses, design, Potential Failure Mode Analyses, risk assessments, site inspections, construction observation and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of hydraulic structures.
- Perform quality reviews of other Engineer's work on deliverables such design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work part time as needed.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with demonstrated coursework in Geotechnical, Structural or Hydrology and Hydraulics Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state or successful completion of the Principles of Engineering (PE) exam within the first six months of employment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability and desire to occasionally travel to project sites, both local and remote.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
- Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant area of study.
- Experience with dams and other hydraulic structures, including rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Ability to complete the Managing AECOM Projects training and receive the AECOM Project Manager certification.
- Experience in relevant software programs such as Microsoft Power BI and Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam and project management information systems (PMIS) such as Procore and e-Builder.
