Ideal candidates will be prepared to collaborate and contribute to the mission and values of the college across all constituencies.POSITION SUMMARYGrinnell College is currently seeking an energetic, motivated, and well-organized Administrative Assistant I to become part of the team which provides strategic and tactical leadership for the alumni and donor programs, events, volunteers, and communications. These areas complement and support the mission of the College and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR).This role is a 30 hour per week, full-time benefit eligible position in the B3 Career Level.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support for DAR events including creation and management of data records.
  • Coordination of mailed and electronic invitations.
  • Development and organization of materials to execute programs.
  • Primary phone receptionist and information resource for alumni, parents, and friends of Grinnell College
  • Manage, create, and produce alumni and donor relations general correspondence including celebratory cards.
  • Coordinate inaugural volunteers' process with the President's Office and development team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One year or more experience
  • Champions diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Highest level of confidentiality maintained.
  • Detailed oriented andwell organized
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including grammar and spelling.
  • The ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Strength in developing relationships with internal and external partners
Preferred QualificationsProven communicator with the ability to effectively utilize various modes of communication.Has an understanding of philanthropy and fundraising and/or has previous higher education/non-profit work experienceStrong command of the Microsoft Office suite applications
