- After extensive training in the product line, the Application Engineer will be working with customers and other team members to determine the applicable product solution and provide technical support throughout the project timeline.
- Application Engineers prepare an analysis of the customer needs, review CAD data, research plastic material requirements, and gather supplemental information to create a concept of the applicable products. Then, via use of the ERP system, provide a quote to the customer for cost and lead time of the co.’s product solution.
- Once the quote is accepted by the customer, the Applications Engineer initiates the process of opening the order in the ERP system and supplies Design Engineers with pertinent data.
- Applications Engineering provides consultation to the customer through the design and development process, then reviews Design Engineering outputs (CAD data and drawings) with the customer for approval and acceptance.
- Applications Engineering also supports customer requests for FEA mold filling simulations, via a team of engineers, as they pertain to the product solution.
- The Application Engineer is the liaison between Design, Manufacturing, Sales, and the customer, supporting the project from quotation to shipment.
- Will perform Project Management, managing multiple jobs at a time.
- Number of projects would be from 5-10 projects during the first 6 months, up to 30-40 projects
- Solidworks or equivalent 3D software
- Draftsight, AutoCAD, or equivalent 2D software
- EPICOR or equivalent ERP software
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
- Familiarity with interpreting results from Autodesk Moldflow
- Strong analytical skills, needs ability to complete tasks that involve varying levels of input ambiguity
- Clear and concise communication via written text and verbally
- Detail oriented and well documented, but flexible and adapts to processes that lack standardization
- Injection Molding and Tooling background in the plastics industry
- Project Management or Project Engineering
- Proficiency with CAD
