This role offers the opportunity to work from any of our office locations and play a key leadership role in shaping project outcomes, mentoring junior staff, and driving technical excellence.The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in structural design and engineering, strong project leadership skills, and a passion for collaboration. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to take ownership of complex projects from concept through construction.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead structural engineering efforts on projects of varying size and complexity, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule goals are met.
  • Manage discipline-specific budgets and coordinate closely with project managers on proposals, staffing, and scheduling.
  • Direct and mentor a team of engineers and designers (Entry-Level to Senior), fostering technical growth and collaboration.
  • Develop and oversee construction drawing packages and specifications with minimal oversight.
  • Provide advanced support during construction, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports.
  • Conduct site walks and field surveys to identify and resolve non-compliant conditions.
  • Ensure quality control through technical verification of design calculations and documentation.
  • Interface with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
  • Lead system design programming and master planning efforts on advanced projects.

QualificationsRequired:
  • ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience for Lead-level candidates; 15+ years for Senior-level candidates, preferably in a design firm setting.
  • Proficiency in structural-specific software and engineering calculations.
  • Strong understanding of structural material codes, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across disciplines and with external partners.
  • Experience managing complex projects and leading technical teams.
Preferred:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience developing and delivering internal training presentations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to discipline-specific systems and designs.
