This is a highly technical position that requires a broad set of technical skills that includes software build pipelines, deployment technologies, monitoring and scripting, networking, and infrastructure.Regardless of role, we expect excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all hires at Collins Aerospace. We look for candidates who will thrive here, meaning they demonstrate clear communication, embrace open feedback, trust their colleagues, and are driven to execute, deliver, and complete projects independently and efficiently.What YOU will do:YOU will leverage company best practices and capabilities to assist programs with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of DevSecOps (DSO) software solutions.YOU will consider the organization’s entire CI/CD infrastructure when making changes and improvements and look for creative ways to deploy DSO on CAS products.YOU will design dependable and scalable solutions and services and manage services deployed to Kubernetes clusters (Amazon EKS).YOU will ensure system reliability and continuity by developing and validating fault tolerance and disaster recovery plans for engineering/development tools infrastructure.YOU will evaluate the current state of software development, testing and automation, and deployment practices.YOU will continuously evaluate and implement best practices for security and compliance.YOU will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, provide technical support.YOU will capture best practices and mentor newer engineers on the team.YOU will gather DORA metrics to demonstrate the potential of using DSO on products.YOU will bring in industry best practices of adopting and deploying DSO to products lines.What YOU will learn:YOU will learn how to solve unique technical challenges.YOU will gain a deeper understanding of the aerospace and defense industry.YOU will apply your skills across a large engineering organization.Education & Experience:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience.Qualifications You Must Have:Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.Experience in AWS cloud engineering, services, and DevOps practices using CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub).Experience with Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, and infrastructure as code tools, such as Terraform and CloudFormation.Experience with Linux system administration and scripting/programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash).Skills We Value:Networking knowledge and experience in configuring VPCs, subnets, and security groups.Proficiency in security concepts, threat modeling, risk assessment, and vulnerability management.Knowledge of secure coding principles and common vulnerabilities.Familiarity with IAM solutions and best practices.Proficiency in Git and version control workflows.Knowledge of major cloud providers (AWS/Azure) and their security features.Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.Experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc .Ability to assess risks related to software development and operations.Knowledge of industry standards (e.g. NIST).Ability to lead and motivate teams toward DevSecOps goals.Understanding of incident handling and post-incident analysis.Staying updated with evolving security threats and DevOps practices.Ability to adapt to changing technologies and organizational needs.Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
