Job Title: Java Developer with GCP Expertise (No AWS)Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite/Hybrid as applicable)Duration: 6 MonthsJob Description:We are seeking a Java Developer with strong GCP expertise to work with engineering, sales, and customer teams in building and optimizing cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java, GCP services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, and container orchestration technologies like GKE and Istio.Key Responsibilities:
Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for technical GCP deployment and integration issues.
Architect and support GCP-native applications with a focus on high availability, observability, and security.
Design, build, and troubleshoot systems using GKE, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer, and BigQuery (BQ).
Develop solutions using Java, with familiarity in Go or Python being a plus.
Implement Terraform-based IaC for managing cloud infrastructure.
Support cloud-native networking and routing with Service Mesh (Istio) and traffic managers like GTM and LTM.
Collaborate across DevOps, Security, Product, and Architecture teams to ensure scalable deployments.
Build and monitor production-ready solutions with tools like Stackdriver, Prometheus, and OTEL.
Required Skills:
Strong programming experience in Java (OO Programming)
Hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) - IAM, VPC, Cloud Logging, Compute, Storage, Security controls
Proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
Experience with GKE, Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift
In-depth knowledge of Big Data & Analytics tools: BigQuery, Dataproc, Composer, Dataflow
Familiarity with Service Mesh (Istio), GTM, LTM
Strong understanding of cloud architecture, security, and observability
Experience with monitoring tools: Stackdriver, Prometheus, OTEL
Exposure to FinOps (Cloud Cost Management) is a plus
